• Huasai is truly an authentic restaurant, serving mostly locals of Iquitos, but located close to plaza de armas, where tourists frequent. They have a small set of lunch specials that changes daily and always reflect traditional peruvian options. It is common to see papa a la huancaina as one of the apetizers and several main dishes like pescado Loreto, done in the style of the jungle. Some of their dishes are from other areas, but local is definitely their thing. Huasai is one of the most popular restaurants for lunch in Iquitos, according to the locals that pack the place every day.
