Description:
Visitors to this re-creation of a seasonal fishing station from a century ago are greeted by the resident fisherman, who remains in character, hang-drying and salting cod in a sheepskin outfit. (Growing a long beard also seems to be in the job description.) The primitive encampment includes a turf-insulated stone hut, an authentically odorous salting shed, and a restored rowboat with a capstan for hauling it ashore. It's an expensive few minutes, but touchingly earnest nonetheless.
