Description:
You might have to line up behind a herd of cows on the muddy dirt track leading up to this quite isolated hotel, but the view from your patio hammock will make it all the more worthwhile. Often cited as the best hotel on the island, the Paraiso offers attractive stone and wood cabins perched on a cliff with Volcán Maderas to the right. The rooms are good sized, though the two beds are small and low and surface areas could be cleaner. Each comes with a private, rustic bathroom. The restaurant is a mite tacky, with wine barrels set into a concrete bar and a stone mosaic overhead, and service is slow. Still, it offers delicious fresh fish platters, among other dishes.
