Eating tapas or finger food when you are out is the best way to mingle with people. Standing up or sitting down around a bar, ordering everything to the middle, you can chit chat with people around you and sip your cocktail slowly.
Unfortunately there are not that many tapas places in Istanbul. There are very good few ones in the trendier neighborhoods of Istanbul -such as Asmalimescit and Bebek-; but this is no Barcelona.
