    Spas are the places to sink in and soak up Istanbul's softer side. There are many five star spas in the city, most of which are located inside luxurious residence buildings, large shopping malls and hotels. Amongst these are the famous Anantara (of the Maldives and beyond), Sanda, Four Seasons, Sanitas and more...

    Boutique spas also exist in Istanbul in some of the coziest neighborhoods. Bebek, for instance is home to Inci Soydan and Dreamlands Spa. Boutique spas thrill customers not only with a variety of massages, but also beauty and osteopathic treatments.

    However, there are also authentic Turkish hammams, where you may be able to dive into an experience once lived and loved by the Sultans. Amongst these are the historical Galatasaray and Çemberlitaş Hamams, where you can get a scrub, a washing and bubble massages. Turkish hammams and rituals of a hammam may also be booked for experience at major five star spas and hotels. Whilst those may be more private, the authenticity of public hammams are another story...
