Top 10:

Active Things to Do in Istanbul

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • As one moves out towards the suburbs of Istanbul, two ways of life start to surround oneself: that of suburban family life (relaxed, joyful, greenery, parks, nature) and that of adrenalin drivers (hikers, safari rides, paintball etc.).

Suburbs of Istanbul extend in all directions and in fact since about a few years now, residents of the city do not really consider these areas as "suburbs". With shortcuts, new roads and establishments along these roads (from gas stations to supermarkets), the suburbs are indeed becoming parts of the greater city... Zekeriyakoy, Kemerburgaz, Gokturk are only some of these neighborhoods that were once far away (until new roads were built).

Suburbs can be reached individually by car. There are not that many reliable shuttle services or buses to those areas. Alternatively, one can contact one of the tours (to be listed below) and enlist in an activity via an organizer. Tours usually take care of transportation.

Active things to do in Istanbul are fortunately not limited to the suburbs only. Once again a variety of tours are available via operators for enjoying activity inside the city. That includes walking tours, photography tours, modeling and a variety of other exciting experiences. Active Gifts is one of the pioneers in this regard in creating active and unique experiences for applicants.

Parks of Istanbul are not as great as the Central Park or the Hyde Park. Nonetheless, almost all of these parks now have a fitness area... So if active means "sporty" for you, grab your bottle of water and head for the parks...

You will find a mix of all of these things below...
