Doesn't the name say it all? It's lush and by the way it's hip. Previously, this hotel was actually the Lush Hip Hotel. Awaiting guests are down-filled duvets and pillows (regrettably, I had to avail myself of the non-allergic ones they keep on hand), 100% Turkish cotton sheets, complimentary l'Occitaine toiletries, and plump Turkish cotton bathrobes. And it's hip because it's got that certain je ne sais quoi. Maybe it's hip because it's a pioneer -- Siraselviler Avenue used to be a bit dicey, but it's now very close to having a clean bill of health. True to the building's 19th-century origins, details like exposed brick, parquet flooring, and decorative moldings are found throughout. The newest annoyance, however, among the truly hip hotels (like this one) is the placement of a digital scale in the bathroom. Perhaps this is to remind us of how good the food is in the brasserie downstairs?
