Sultan Pub

• Competing with two or three other small bar/restaurants with tables on the same street, the Sultan Pub (which overlooks the Edibe Habib Park) has been serving beer and snacks since 1975. They have cakes, pies, sandwiches and salads. Pizza and ice cream sundaes are high on the list of favorites. Tourist food at tourist prices with interrupted views of the spires of Haghia Sophia and the ancient Roman viaduct is what you'll get, but if you can snag a pavement seat with a view across the Hippodrome to Sultanahmet Mosque, then there are worse places to nurse a beer. The staff here are friendly and speak English.
