Sutte Charcuterie

  • NileGuide Expert Says:

    Pioneer of the charcuterie family.

  • Description:

    • Şütte was opened for the first time in 1918 by the German Schutte -and, in fact Şütte is how 'Schutte' would be read in Turkish. This initial shop was located inside the Fish Market in Beyoğlu. In time, the charcuterie changed hands and expanded with branches all around the city: Etiler, Yeniköy, Teşvikiye, Caddebostan, Kemerburgaz and Florya; while the initial branch inside the Fish Market closed down. Charcuteries in Istanbul are different from those of traditional French ones. Charcuteries like Şütte do not only sell cheese and a variety of salami, but also meze, alcoholic beverages and ready-to-go dishes. Şütte
is also especially famous by its huge sandwiches made into baguette bread.
