AnadoluHisarı (Anatolian Castle)

Description:

  • AnadoluHisarı is an fortress located on the Asian side of the Bosphorus and the area around it is called Asian Bosphorus. The castle was constructed by Sultan Beyazit in the year 1395 as a watch tower and this was a part of his preparations to annex the Constantinople area. The castle underwent many changes in architecture and thus looks different from its original design. The Turkish government took over the restoration processes and today it stands as a museum, however it is not available for public viewing.
