    Mini Turkey in Istanbul

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

A must-see place, totally enhancing in cultural terms

    Description:

    • MiniaTürk is the first miniature Turkish Park in the city. There are many Turkish and Ottoman monuments being exhibited over 60,000 sqm with 1/25 scale. The Park was opened in year 2003, exhibiting approximately 105 monuments initially. The project has been carried out with the purpose of making new additions over time. The monument models were created in ateliers both in and out of Turkey (total of 13 ateliers). The monuments being exhibited include Hagia Sophia, Rumeli Fortress, Galata Tower,  the city of Selimiye,  Safranbolu Houses, Sümeli (Sümela) Monastery, Kubbet-üs Sahra, Nemrut Mountain Relics and monuments which no longer exist such as the Artemis Temple, Halikarnas Mausoleum and the Ecyad Tower. There is something that is legendary about MiniaTürk. Objects that are displayed have been categorized under three themes: Ottoman, Anatolia and Istanbul. Each section is deliberately separated from one and the other, however passing from one section to the other does not totally surprise the viewer. The continuity between eras have sustained through passing as well. A must-see place, totally enhancing in cultural terms.
