you can spend 3 days in Istanbul & visit another city in the other 2, like Izmir or Cappadocia (by night bus)

If you plan to have sun & see you have to go to the south (Antalya, Kas, Kalkan) or west (Fethiye, Bodrum, Marmaris, - if you like surfing "Alacati"-) of Turkey..
If you want to see 2500 year of history, museum, culture, you have to come to the Istanbul,- capital of Byzans and Ottoman empire-.. By both of this joices you can find nonstop nightlife ...
