• Bebek Bengil (Dirty Duck) serves some of the crispiest duck in town - Balinese style of course. Order this dish and you will get half of a deep-fried duck served with steamed rice and Balinese vegetables. Eating tip: if you find it frustratingly difficult to cut the duck with your knife simply pick it up with your fingers the way the locals do, or alternatively order the Duck Melon Soup instead. Other items on the menu are Balinese Smoked Chicken and the famous Indonesian Rijstafel - a real feast of a meal as it comprises many dishes. Make sure to leave room for a dessert - the Black Russian Pie or Original Sin Devil Dark Food Cake are both very tempting choices. Alas, there is no scenic Balinese view from the restaurant but you can still enjoy a romantic candle-lit dinner under the stars in the balcony area. - Martin Jenkins
