Description:
For good value, the Coral Cliff may be your best bet in Montego Bay, as it's only a 2-minute walk from Doctor's Cave Beach, and about 2km (1 1/4 mile) west from the center of town. The hotel grew from a colonial-style building that was once the private home of Harry M. Doubleday (of the famous publishing family). The public areas of this place are now as busy and popular as virtually any other hotel in Montego Bay, thanks to the presence of about 100 small-stakes slot machines, open to the public, including non-residents. Many of the light, airy, and spacious bedrooms open onto sea-view balconies. The rooms, as befits a former private house, come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, most of them containing old colonial furniture, wicker, and rattan. Most units have twin beds. The bathrooms are small in the older bedrooms, but more spacious in the newer wing out back. Each is tidily maintained and has a combination shower/tub. Standard Jamaican and international dishes are served at Ma Lou's restaurant.
