• Sandals Whitehouse is the only brand-name mega-resort on the South Coast, but it offers a stylish, all-inclusive alternative to the small boutique hotels that dot the area. Located at the foot of the Blue Mountains amid a 500-acre nature reserve, the adults-only property consists of 360 oceanfront rooms grouped into several multi-story "villages" with European themes. Butler service suites include jacuzzi tubs, private balconies, air conditioning, and color televisions. The 50-acre spread also has seven restaurants, four pools, a spa, a fitness center, scuba diving equipment, a night club and a gift shop. Since the resort is in a relatively isolated location between Auchindown and New Hope, guests must pay extra for excursions to nearby sightseeing spots such as YS Falls, Mandeville or Treasure Beach. But most guests seem content to wander the Venetian piazzas, go snorkeling, lounge around the massive pool, or lay on the nearly-deserted white sand beach, which is free of the persistent vendors which plague many other beaches.
