- This offshore island is a popular spot for picnics, snorkeling, diving and swimming; most of the hotels in and around Negril frequently arrange trips here for their guests. The island, also affectionately known as Gilligan's Island, derives its name from the Booby birds; which use the island as their breeding ground. The islands snorkeling and scuba diving is truly spectacular, as the many coral reefs provide breeding ground for a dense population of colorful marine life. Part of the movie, "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" was filmed here.
