Description:
- The St.Catherine Parish Church is awash in history. It was built between 1523 and 1530 during the time the Spanish ruled the island. It started life as a Roman Catholic church and was known as the Spanish Red Cross Church. It was destroyed by Cromwell's soldiers in the mid 16th century. The present church was completed in 1714, while the landmark steeple was added in 1817. There are stained glass windows and fantastic marble pieces adding to the allure. It also houses Jamaica's second oldest pipe organ.
