William Grant Park

Description:

  • Landscape architects performed magic in the 1980s, beautifying this park in the historic public square at the top of King Street. The park is in the center of "Parade," an area the British Military once used for public hangings and official gatherings. Walk the pathways and learn of these historic events. View the statues of the triumvirate: Queen Victoria, National Heroes Norman Manley and William Alexander Bustamante. Their combined efforts resulted in the New Constitution of 1944, which granted full Adult Suffrage for Jamaica.
