There are more than one Bob Marley Experience Tours available. There is a Museum in Ocho Rios and the largest one in Kingston. There is of course "Nine Miles" which is the Birthplace of Bob Marley which is in St Ann. Since you are coming in a weeks time I will say this: its usually safe to visit any of these locations. However I will give you a strong caution as we are about to have General Elections in about 2 weeks and the locals are now overly excited. I recommend you visit the location in Ocho Rios and in Kingston. I do not recommend Nine Miles unless you have a trusted driver and tour company. The museum in Kingston has the largest collection of Bob Marleys works but please remember it is the capital city so take safety precautions as you would in any other city in the world. Bon voyage.

its perfectly safe Jamaicans love tourists you will be well taken care of, violence that you hear of on the news is only in the ghetto and that's no where near tourist areas even if you end up in the ghetto they love tourists.

Its fairly safe to visit both the Museum in Ocho Rios as well as the one in Kingston, just ensure you book through a registered tour company, they have some of the most experienced drivers for the kind of trip. We will be having General elections on the 29th, and therefore its hard to predict what will happen leading up to this date, however once you are here keep informed and then decide whether you still want to make the trip or not.

YES is my immediate answer. If you are going to nine miles, where he was born, the bus ride is a little sketchy. If you are going to Ocho Rios or Kingston, it is as safe as any big city. So take the precautions you normally would.
