5 star dining in Jerusalem is concentrated in a few areas of the new city--downtown, Baka and Ein Kerem. From Moroccan to French to Asian, 5 star restaurants will enhance your Jerusalem experience and expand your culinary horizons.
Topping the list of Jerusalem's 5 star establishments is the venerable and hard-to-find Arcadia. Once you've arrived at the attractive courtyard on an alley between Agrippas Street and Jaffa Road in central Jerusalem, you'll be carried away by the fresh flavors and deceptively simple French/Mediterranean that marks this world-renowned restaurant. (Not kosher)
Not too far away on a side street north of Jaffa Road is the exotic Darna, an authentic (and glatt kosher) Moroccan restaurant where dining is an entire evening's entertainment. The sumptuous Middle Eastern furnishings enhance the fabulous tagines, succulent lamb dishes and fine home-made couscous, and the endless sweet Moroccan mint tea poured from on high by the attentive waiters as you lounge on the comfortable sofas will round out this Moroccan experience.
On nearby Shimon Ben Shetach Street, one of Jerusalem's central pedestrian malls, you'll find several fine kosher restaurants within a short distance--the most elegant 5 star establishments on the street are Lara and Gabriel. Both are exquisitely decorated with impeccable service and unusual French-style menus. Try them both!
Our next 5 star recommendations are restaurants in some of Jerusalem's finest hotels--La Scala at the David's Citadel and the La Regence in the stately King David Hotel. For ambience and service they can't be beat.
A little further out, in the charming Baka neighborhood, you'll find La Guta, another kosher meat restaurant with a small but interesting menu; a very fine wine list and simple, modern decor that creates a restful vibe.
