With a great location, this large, modern complex, designed by renowned architect Moshe Safdie, offers views of the Old City; a network of terraces, gardens, and courtyards; and a full schedule of lectures, concerts, and cultural activities on the premises under the sponsorship of the World Union for Progressive (Reform) Judaism. There is a hostel section containing rooms with private bathrooms that can be arranged for two to six people, and a newer Beit Shimshon Guest House with 11 better rooms for up to four guests. Visitors of all faiths and ages are welcome. The complex can seem a bit institutional and be noisy during nighttime concerts; many hostel rooms are worn from heavy use. Call ahead for arrangements on wheelchair access. It's heavily booked with groups in summer and Jewish holidays, when rates are higher. Reserve far ahead.
