  • The Best of NileGuide
  • Jerusalem boasts a very diverse population--with Jewish immigrants from every corner of the globe; a large Arab population with roots in almost every Arab country and foreign workers from Thailand, China, the Philipines and eastern Europe. And food is important to all of them!

You'll find everything from the tastiest Moroccan specialties to the most sumptious Arab desserts to great Phad Thai, sushi and fabulous French cuisine. Restaurants in all price ranges are dotted all over the city and are open till late.

Of course there's a huge range of grab-and-go food like pizza, burgers and the ubiquitous felafel, and a great cafe culture too--Jerusalemites love to sit and shmooze over a cappucino or a long ice coffee. Some of the best ethnic Jewish food is often found in the small neighborhood places tucked away in residential neighborhoods and the Shuk--Machane Yehuda.

If you're looking for kosher, there's nothing to rival Jerusalem anywhere in the world for kosher restaurants--just look for the certificate hanging near the entrance.
