Description:

• Birding experts estimate that some 500 million birds pass over Israel twice a year during migration seasons and some 200 species visit the Jerusalem Bird Observatory located very close to the Knesset. Here visitors can spend some quiet time in the midst of the city sitting in the bird hide  watching the birds during the day and looking out for hedgehogs, turtles and porcupines at night (it's open 24 hours a day).
  
  The Visitor's Center is open Sun-Th. between 9 a.m-3 p.m and includes a bookshop, short movies and restrooms.  Many volunteers come to ring the birds(schedule is on the website).
