June 1 marks the 44th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem that occurred as a result of the 1967 Six Day War.  The major celebrations in the Old City will be held at the restored Hurva Synagogue in the center of the Jewish Quarter.

On Tuesday May 31 at 8 p.m special prayers will be recited, followed by community dancing and music.  On Wednesday June 1 at 4:30 p.m at the Hurva Synagogue, visitors will be able to witness the writing of the final letters in a special Torah scroll that will be placed at the Western Wall. Singing and dancing start at 5: 30 p.m in the courtyard of the Hurva and will accompany the Torah scroll down to the Western Wall.
