Jerusalem Season of Culture

Description:

• The Jerusalem Foundation and the City of Jerusalem have joined together to produce two months of dance, music, theater, visual arts and encounters between artists at venues all over Jerusalem.  Starting on May 18 with the "What's On Your Mind" philosophy festival at the venerable Mishkenot Sha'ananim center just outside the Old City, and concluding in late July with a special performance featuring Renee Fleming in concert with Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the season promises to be a showcase for Jerusalem. 
  
  Every Monday during July, the Machane Yehuda market will host the Balabasta! evenings, where food, music and people will mingle. Reggae at the Tower of David is scheduled for July 15 and new pubic art will be unveiled all over town during the week of June 1-7.
