• This lodge is more than 80 years old and sits only two miles from Yosemite's east entrance at an elevation of 9,600 feet. The lodge has four motel rooms and 10 housekeeping cabins. The place is rustic, but there is running water as well as gas for heat and cooking. There are no telephones, however. The cafe is open from 7am-9pm, and the lodge contains a store that provides a good selection of food for you to use in your cabin's kitchen. In spring and summer, the resort is an ideal base camp for exploring on foot; in winter, it can be a skier's heaven. Cabins are rented on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday only; however, the motel rooms require a two night stay. See their website for seasonal rates.
