A hidden gem in the desert, worth seeking out.

You cannot go wrong here. The fish tacos are killer!

    Description:

    • You've never seen a place like "The Mobil" as locals call it.  Hidden inside a gas station mini-mart that could be anywhere in the US is a true delight: a high quality dining experience.  Yes, it's a deli, you stand in line, read the menu off of an overhead board, have to wait a bit til they shout out your number at the counter.  But the food is great!  The menu is a surprise: lobster taquitos, buffalo meatloaf, an oyster po' boy sandwich and world-famous fish tacos.  Chef Matt Toomey has created an astonishing delight at the strange boundary of Sierra, high desert and a saline lake.  You'll find hundreds of people here on a weekend night, when Yosemite locals come for food and live music.  A lush lawn with great views of Mono Lake makes a great place for families to linger of an evening, watching the sunset colors while enjoying food that really is world famous.
