• Elbow Falls is a picnic area in Kananaskis, about 45 minutes from Calgary, that is beside the Elbow River. The water fall is a beautiful spot for a small hike and a day with family and friends. On warm summer days, it's safe to wade into the river, as the current of the Elbow is not very strong. But, keep away from the falls, as they can be dangerous. There are guard rails around the area to prevent people from getting too close to the falls. Take the highway out past Bragg Creek, and you'll see the signs for Elbow Falls. Can't miss it.
