Lihue

Just a mile from the airport at the very heart of the island Lihue is not only the county seat of the island, but it is also the largest town on the island. The town is a contrast of wood buildings and big box stores, mom and pop shops and shopping malls. Not big enough to get lost in, but small enough to retain a charm that is uniquely Kauai. Just a mile from the airport is Nawiliwili Harbor where cruise ships are welcomes and where inter-island cargo operations bring everything from milk to cars from other islands and beyond.
