NileGuide Expert Says:
Perfect beach for children and those who wish to relax in the ocean without waves or current.
NileGuide Expert tip:
Check out the beach park if you want, but find a more secluded spot before or after the park.
- Almost two miles of white sand, and shallow calm water thanks to a long fringing reef can be found at Anini Beach. Anini Beach Park, about half way down the road has camping, bathrooms, and showers, and is almost always crowded. Luckily beach access can be found the entire way down, with small parking spots dotting the road, each on a small or long stretch of beach where you'll most likely be alone if you stop at any of them.
Past the beach park the sand keeps going, and beach goers occupy the whole area down, although it's rarely crowded. Look for tide pools along the way, a swing under a tree, and at the end, there is ample parking under the ironwood trees. Right past here there is a stream that if fun for the kids to play in. Along the whole stretch the water is generally shallow, allowing for good swimming and snorkeling.
To get here, turn right on the second Kalihiwai Road headed north. Stick to the left at the fork in the road and keep going.
