Description:

For a mild hike, or walk if you will, make the journey to secluded Ho`opi`i Falls. The trail head is located in a residential area, and the falls are deep in the dense forest, reaches by walking along the river under a forest canopy.

The toughest part about the journey is the way back up, since you're at a constant decline the whole way there. That said, it is far from a strenuous hike and takes place along a muddy dirt trail. It's an ideal walk for the whole family, yet exciting enough for adventurous hikers. Don't forget water and a camera.

Take Kawaihau Rd at the north end of Kapaa inland about 2 miles+ and turn right on Kapahi Rd and park next to the cattle gate. As you ascend into this magical wilderness, you are taken from civilization to raw nature almost immediately.
