User Review:
- The Kazan Kremlin hill looks magnificent from the opposite side of Kazanka river and from the windows while approaching to the city by a train. Especially the tower of Suyumbika which looks more authentic than other constructions of the ensemble. It is a well developed tourism object attracting thousands of tourists, people of art by permanent exhibitions of classic and modern art, music, knights' fights. And close neighborhood of a church , a mosque, architectural monuments and civil buildings of several centuries at one locality looks unusually picturesque. There are lots of interesting Tatar artists presented in the Kremlin picture gallery. But the most interesting and authentic , as I think are - Akhsan Fatkhutdinov with his series of Tatar goblins and spirits ( wood-goblin Shurale and spirits - Iyalar. Another painter is Firinat Halikov with his bright, vivid, lyrical, mysterious, fascinating pictures of ancient Kazan, it's people and their life. As archaeologists uncover ancient layers of the earth, revealing to us the distant past, and Firinat Khalikov reveals the events of past centuries. He testifies in his paintings the history and tragedy of past Kazan from the Tatar side. He is a mature personality and, sure, he has something to prove it. But I think it's better to see these works and the object. Moreover there are some other things to see in Kazan - among them for sure the first is Tatar National Academic Theatre named after Galiasgar Kamal with absolutely magnificent troupe, orchestra, mind-blowing national dramaturgy and all the rest which a normal theater may be remarkable. All performances are supplied by the access for simultaneous translation from Tatar into English.
