- Quails Gate Estate Winery is famous for its terroir specialized wines, which are grown and produced on the slopes of the arid Okanagan valley southwest of Kelowna. Its 2009 Stewart Family Reserve Chardonnay has won the Silver Medal at the Okanagan Fall Wine Festival 2010 and the Canadian Wine Awards 2010, as well as several other competitions. The winery is also known for the success of its Old Vines Foch Reserve and its 2008 Optima. Quails Gate is open for wine tours and tastings and maintains a schedule of its tour times on its website. Its year-round Old Vines Restaurant, and winter season Fireside Lounge serve terroir-inspired regional dishes and drinks and are popular for their open and airy venue.
