Description:
Go Kiteboarding through the Florida Keys, a great sport that even beginners can learn. Surfers and water lovers are guaranteed to have fun. Local guides and services are provided from Kiteboarding rental shops from Islamorada and Key West, these two regions are where the sport is growing the most.
If the wind's low, take a long & wide board to go paddlesurfing through the natural mangroves.
Day Note:
Holiday Isle is the heartbeat of Islamorada, and fast-paced fun. Down the road find Whale Harbor Marina, where Seven Sports has their course set up to tackle the winds. Take lessons, or flaunt your stuff, but a day out on the sandbar kiting cannot be beat. Whale Harbor is the site of the annual Kiteboarding Invitational held in March, around spring break. Tonight, grab a down-under steak and enjoy a few drinks out back of the Outback under the tiki.read more

At this Howard Johnson-style property you'll find a beach and two swimming pools, one heated. Of the 56 rooms, there is expected to be renovations at the resort beginning in 2011. It is an old-Florida style hotel, so until remodeling is complete, don't expect major modern amenities.
There's a famous Tiki bar as well as other restaurants not far from the door. Swimming and fishing are the main recreational activities but plenty of other water sports facilities from sportfishing to diving, canoeing and jet skis are available in the area.
Beach areas are the main appeal of this resort, that caters to the young, hip party crowd.

Description:
Early in the evening, talented ladies from the Pacific islands show off dances in this bar's popular Polynesian show. Later in the evening, the place fills with other dancers who also gyrate but in a much less organized style. Tucked away in Holiday Isle Resort, where the action goes from dawn to dawn and frequently well beyond, the Tiki Bar is a popular gathering spot, one among several at this action-packed resort that features a host of theme events from bikini competitions to holiday celebrations, luaus to fireworks. This is a laid back bar during the daytime, but at night the action heats up. Live nightly entertainment 6 nights a week (3 nights a week during off season) featuring your favorite rock and dance music.
Day Note:
When the winds are too much (or simply nonexistent) for kiteboarding, standup paddling is a perfect stand-in sport for fun and a core physical workout. It's possible to use the board for surfing, traversing on a "downwinder" (riding the board backed by tradewinds to cover long distances), as a fishing or diving platform, or just quietly enjoying secluded eco-tours through the backcountry flats in an environmentally friendly way. Description:
A down-to-earth, efficient staff dishes up home-cooked favorites at this plain-looking, plain-talking local favorite. As is typical of the Keys, flash and glamour give way to comfort and simplicity. Breakfast starts at 6:30am, and includes fun features like Frittatas and Grits and Grunts. The house specialty 'Hungry Tarpon' is a plateful of hash browns, covered in cheese, eggs and sausage gravy. You will not leave hungry.
Try a sweet potato crab fritter with Caribbean cocktail sauce!
The atmosphere is decidedly "Keys casual" with room for 28 diners inside, another 28 on an outside deck overlooking Lignumvitae Pass and a private room that can accommodate 15 for special occasions and small parties.

Wild groups gather at this open-air bar nightly, to party 'til they drop. If you are up for a pretty rambunctious scene, you will enjoy this antique saloon built in 1890 and generally agreed upon as the oldest bar in Key West. The co-owned smokehouse next door called "Meteor," serves pork, chicken, beef and seafood until 2am. Play pool, darts, or pinball while trying a "spine-tingling" cocktail. On weekends, there is live music, and the jukebox pounds out blues, zydeco and reggae all week. Don't miss this spot, listed as one of the "World's 50 Greatest Bars."

Description:
The 524-acre Bahia Honda State Park's number one attraction is the beaches. In particular, Sandspur Beach was rated in 1992 as "Best Beach in America." Typically, the beaches in the Florida Keys are not the main attraction. Little sand and a hard limestone surface dominate the waterfront. However, Bahia Honda is different. The sandy edge is wide in terms of beaches found in the Keys. The sand is thick and soft and there is a constant flow of warm ocean breezes that seem to magically slow the temperament of visitors. The surf is gentle and crystal clear with a tranquilizing aquamarine appearance. Darker areas of the water are lush with seagrasses, sea fans and sea plumes that sway with the water's motion. When the sun gets too hot, sunbathers flock to the warm soothing waters and let their bodies relax to the rhythm of the ebb and flow. Others snorkel below the water's surface to explore the sponges, corals and stunning tropical fish. While others find relaxation in wind surfing, sea kayaking or canoeing in the shaded narrow mangroves in search of unique birdlife.
Other attractions along the beach include the Silver Palm Nature Trail where tourists explore the 0.5-mile hike observing...

Description:
This strip of sand is one of the best-known beaches in Key West. Named after a former governor, it is just west of the airport and, at two miles long, it is the island's longest strip of silica. This beach is an excellent choice if you have children. With plenty of parking, restrooms, concession stands, chair rentals, picnic tables, watersport rentals and more, everything you need to have a great day in the sun is right at hand. The beach was hit hard by a hurricane in 1998, but it has recovered well and is flourishing once again.

Description:
Key West's Turtle Kraals have been around for many years, first as a way of raising turtles for food and for the shell, and later as a turtle soup cannery and a tourist attraction. Now it's doubling as a restaurant with a historic tower bar that's a popular spot in Old Town. The restaurant focuses its culinary offerings, not surprisingly, on seafood. Cooks blend the cuisine of New Orleans with that of Key West, Cuba and the Bahamas to come up with dishes featuring a wide array of delicate spices. Or catch the very popular turtle races, which are held twice a week.

You'll have to stop in here just to say you did. Scholars and drunks debate whether this is the same Sloppy Joe's that Hemingway wrote about, but there's no argument that this classic bar's early-20th-century wooden ceiling and cracked-tile floors are Key West originals. There's live music nightly, as well as a cigar room and martini bar.
