Gorillas Hotel

• Gorillas is definitely up to international standards as a hotel – for the most part. Its rooms are clean and equipped with televisions, and its showers have reliable, long-lasting hot water. The rooms on the front side of the hotel have terraces overlooking Volcanoes National Park – a lovely view to wake up to! (The downside is that you are more exposed to the noises of the main street, which can actually be quite loud with trucks headed to Giseyni.) The biggest inconvenience is that it doesn't have a generator, and short power-outages are quite common in Musanze. As for amenities, it has a business center (no printer) and a pool (although with no lounge chairs or towels available, I've always thought it was more for show than for use). The restaurant/bar is quite formal and rarely crowded, meaning the service is attentive, by Rwandan standards. It's possible to eat outside and enjoy the view of Volcanoes National Park.
