- If you love the performing arts and are going to make one trip outside the city when visiting Toronto, this Shakespearean festival is the place you want to be. Since 1957, the festival has been entertaining audiences with some of the best interpretations of the Bard's plays in the world. Between May and November, more than one dozen of Shakespeare's works, as well as those of other great playwrights, are presented in four state-of-the-art venues: the Festival, Avon, Tom Patterson and Studio Theatres. Tickets range between CAD20-100, depending on the play, venue and day of the week.
