• Are you as surprised as I am to find a Renaissance in a hardship posting like Kota Bharu? While it's nice to experience exotic cultures, sometimes you just want creature comforts. Catering primarily to the oil industry execs who come for business trips, you'll find this hotel is the most efficient place in the whole state. Guest rooms do little to distinguish themselves from Renaissance rooms in other cities worldwide. You'd almost never know you were in deepest darkest Malaysia here -- a plus and a minus. Another minus, if you're here for the sights, you're a bit farther from the action.
