Songket - Kuala Lumpur
  • Cuisines: Asian
  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Diners can join in and partake in the finale performance and learn a thing or two about Malay dances

  • Description:

    • Songket is perfect for groups or romantic dinners. You'll be served authentic Malay dishes – snack on cucur udang or prawn fritters, fried popiah and chicken wings. Try mains that include the tender and deliciously marinated burung puyuh berempah, or deep-fried quail with onions, red chilies and curry leaves; rusuk panggang or chargrilled marinated short ribs with sweet soy sauce and sambal belacan and udang masak lemak ulam tempoyak (prawns cooked in fermented durian broth). Other popular dishes include nasi kerabu and nasi lemak pandan. Songket is a great stop for travelers to sample the Malay cuisine and culture. There are live performances at 9pm (Mondays to Saturdays) featuring numerous traditional Malay dances. Expect such classics dances like the Mak Yong, Joget and Zapin.
