Tamarind Hill Restaurant & Bar

Description:

  • Flickering oil lamps lead you up to this gorgeous restaurant, an old bungalow perched on a hill overlooking one of the city's busiest thoroughfares, Jalan Sultan Ismail. Cleverly transformed into a modern space with Asian accents, Tamarind Hill's interior centers around rustic-luxury with plenty of water features, wood and soft lighting. Hill tribe costumes adorn the walls, lantern like lights hang from the ceiling, Thai statues sit in enclaves surrounded by tea lights – the space evokes quite a mystical and romantic feel. The kitchen, helmed by Thai chefs, churns out extraordinary dishes –expect a modern flair to your traditional Thai cuisine. Try raw mud crab and squid cured in lime juice, green chili and aromatic herbs, lime-cured tiger prawns rolled in salmon sashimi and deep fried cod red curry and pumpkin custard with chili chocolate ice cream. Some outdoor tables enjoy views of the Petronas Twin Towers; there's also private dining in gazebo style rooms. This resort like restaurant is a welcome oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city.
