Description:

The National Planetarium is part of Malaysia's space program. There are many hands-on exhibits and optical illusions to keep visitors occupied. Kids will find these especially exciting. Enter through a 'space lock' and find yourself in the anti-gravity room with an escape slide and a black hole simulator. Here you can get hands-on knowledge on the space shuttle and personally experience the zero gravity that astronauts feel when in space. A popular display is the Arianne IV space engine – one of the original engines used to launch Malaysia's first satellite, MEASAT 1, into space. There is also an Observatory Park which is equipped with a 14-inch telescope, through which you can view the entire galaxy and its planets. Also, make time to venture into the Ancient Observatory Park where you can find a replica of the famous Stonehenge and also get an insight into Chinese and Indian ancient observatory exhibits.
