Of all the caravanseries converted into modern hotels, this is one of the most elegant, and a great opportunity to soak up real Turkish culture. The rooms have been lovingly restored, the floors and furnishings glisten with wood polish, and even the alcove fireplaces found in every room are original. The success of a place can also be judged by the tenure of its staff: Many of the employees have been at this inn for 20 years, creating a warm, familial atmosphere.
A traditional Turkish folklore show is performed in the main courtyard Thursday through Saturday, but the show finishes promptly at midnight so as not to blow nonparticipating guests out of their rooms with high decibel levels. For those wishing to attend, the management offers a meal plan that includes the show.
