i totally disagree with the earlier traveler. i actually stayed during cherry blossom time in 2010 so it was hard to find an available ryokan last minute. It was conveniently located...

三条通りにあり、周囲にはお土産物を買うのにちょうどよい新京極があり、屋根もついているので雨の日でも安心です。部屋は普通の旅館といった感じで、食事もおいしかったです。
