Description:
- Japan's first botanical gardens opened in 1924. This treasure trove of greenery contains over 12000 plants and trees from 1200 different species. The gardens are an ideal way to see Kyoto's changing seasons mirrored in its flora. Also on view are Japanese and European set gardens, the nation's largest glass-houses and notable collections of roses as well as bamboo, cherry and plum trees. There is a small entry fee.
