Orinasukan

Description:

  • To promote Kyoto's handmade fabric dyeing and weaving, the museum has assembled some beautiful Noh costumes made when Japan's weaving techniques had reached a zenith. One can see the weaving process by visiting the ateliers nearby which include 14 traditional hand looms and the workshops of 10 weavers who continue to produce obi by tried and true methods. Facilities include a museum shop selling kimono accessories, obis and books; the annex has a Japanese room where light refreshments can be enjoyed.
