Description:

  • Hidden away on a shady piece of beach in the Zona Viva, sandwiched between the bridge and the Quinta Real, this champa, a traditional elevated thatched beach hut, is renowned for its Garífuna seafood specialties. Views and breezes from the ocean add to the pleasure of dining at this rustic two-level restaurant, though it is the food that sets it apart. The seviche (raw seafood marinated in lime juice), makes for a good choice of appetizer. Grilled kingfish, seafood stews, caracols (snails), steaks, and chicken round out the entree options, all of which attract a loyal following of mostly locals.
