  • The Best of NileGuide
  • La Jolla is a defining area for California cuisine and stuff your face creations. Tapas, meet more tapas. You could get yourself an uppity hamburger at the Burger Lounge, a new school take on the traditional American slab of beef, completely with a Jetson's approach to the interior, or you could have a sit-down Mexican fiesta at Alfonso's, where your burrito comes with a fork and knife, adorned by a massive margarita that will probably, and should probably let you stumble off on a nice beach cruise until your keys miraculously re-appear in your pocket a few hours later when you find yourself at Mission Beach, covered in kelp and SDSU paraphernalia. And, of course, if you want a cliche vacation dinner overlooking the cove, at sunset, with bronzed couples laughing delectably over a bottle of wine and seafood caught right down the street, there's plenty of places to conspire in the great San Diego past-time that is the sun setting a block from your house, and the ocean slowly rocking you to sleep.
