Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest

• This fun, tongue-in-cheek celebration of Halloween pits some of the best local divers against each other to find out who can carve the best Jack 'O Lantern underwater. Spectators line the sand and root for their favorite entrant. Each contestant has 20 minutes to create his or her ghoulish best. Judges vary from year to year and sometimes the audience breaks a tie with their applause. The event has taken place on the weekend before Halloween since 1981.
