Lake Tahoe is one of the best places in the nation to get married, and it's pretty much guaranteed that a lot of these marriages started with a proposal at a romantic restaurant at the lake. Some of our favorite spots are the small and intimate La Petit Pier on the North Shore and the Café Fiore on the South Shore. Because of the size and romance factor, be sure to make reservation for both of these places. If you and your partner are looking for some real Tahoe atmosphere, try the Swiss Lakewood Restaurant, which is nestled in the forests of the West Shore or the Tahoe Swiss Chalet in South Lake Tahoe. Both of these restaurants are cozy and perfect for winter romance. You can also visit Graham's at Squaw Valley for some elegance and firelight.
For some great views of the water, eat at the Edgewood Restaurant, Christy Hill or the 19 Kitchen~Bar at the top of Harvey's. For something a little more exotic try La Fondue on the North Shore (you can feed each other) or the Dragonfly Thai restaurant in downtown Truckee. If you decide to stay in Truckee, go to Moody's and enjoy some live music or go to the Cottonwood Restaurant and get a table by the window for a view of this historic railroad town.
