  • Lake Tahoe is the ultimate place for outdoor recreation. Within one day you can ski, hike, bike, boat, swim, have a picnic or watch an outdoor play or performance. The weather is normally beautiful and the skies clear.

The top things that visitors want to do on a trip to Tahoe is view the lake. There are several great ways to do this. Take a hike along many of the great trails in the area. The Tahoe Rim Trail has sections for every level. You can also do some kayaking or boating or even parasailing.

If you want to keep it low key, visit some of the area's beaches including Sand Harbor, Lester Beach, the South Tahoe Recreation Area, or Nevada Beach. You can also do some fishing on the lake or in the Truckee River. If you want to pump up the volume, visit Camp Richardson or Zephyr Cove you can rent a jetski and zip across the blue water for a few hours.
