Description:
- Sierraville Ranger District offers camping at the Cottonwood Campground, Cold Creek Campground and many other sites. Fishing is available in the Jackson Meadow Reservoir an in several other lakes in the district. The Badenbaugh Trail and the Mt. Lola trail offer spectacular hiking an views of the surrounding area. Mountain biking and horseback riding are available on these trails. A portion of the Yuba Donner National Scenic Byway leads through the District.
The Downieville Area offers camping, hiking, biking, OHV riding, fishing, mountain biking and horseback riding as just a few of the activities available in the area.
The Sierraville Ranger District encompasses the northeastern portion of the Tahoe National Forest. This District is located around the small towns of Randolph and Loyalton. State Highways 89 and 49 access the region.
